Smudge Monkey / Drape-body plush
Made
for 2am.
Most plush toys sit up. Smudge lies down — flat body, long weighted arms, built to stay exactly where you put it. Across a chest. Over a shoulder. Under an arm, all night.

The drape, in motion
The build
Cuteness is
the surface.
The build is
the reason.
Long-pile brushed plush with a directional nap — the fur falls instead of standing stiff. Underfilled on purpose, so the body folds instead of resisting. Paws carry more weight than the limbs, which is why the arms hang rather than stick out.
Nothing about it is loud. That's the point.

Why Smudge
Four things
nobody can
copy.
-
Drape
Flat by design
A low body that lies over a chest, a shoulder, a pillow edge — and doesn't roll away at 3am like a barrel-shaped bear.
-
Weight
Weighted paws
Denser mitten ends give the arms a slow pendulum hang. It's the detail that makes it feel held rather than propped.
-
Pile
Fur that falls
Long-nap plush brushed in one direction, so it catches light and keeps its shape. It won't go matte and crunchy after the first wash.
-
Palette
Doesn't read as a toy
Muted taupe and warm caramel instead of nursery primaries. It sits on a made bed, in a photo, in a grown adult's room without looking out of place.
One button. No options to agonise over.
Night one

Straight answers
Ask the awkward
questions.
It looks flat in the photos. Is it thin or understuffed?
It's flat on purpose. A tall, tightly stuffed body rolls off the bed and pushes back when you squeeze it. Smudge is built low with a soft fill so it folds, drapes and stays. Less height, more contact.
How fast does it ship, and what if it takes too long?
Orders leave our facility within 24 hours on business days, with tracking emailed the moment the label scans. Typical delivery is 5–9 days. If tracking hasn't moved in 7 days, message us and we resend — you don't have to argue for it.
Will the eyes or nose come off? I'm giving it to a small child.
The eyes are anchor-stitched through the head, not glued, and the nose is a soft stitched panel — no hard plastic to crack or pop out. Seams are double-locked at every limb joint, which is where cheap plush fails first.
Long fur always mats after one wash. Will this?
Cold machine wash, gentle cycle, air dry only — never a hot dryer, which is what actually destroys long-pile plush. Once dry, brush the nap in one direction with your hand. It comes back.
Isn't this just a cute toy? I'm an adult.
Nearly half our owners bought it for themselves — for sleep, for something to hold at 2am, for restless hands instead of scrolling. It's a comfort object, not a nursery toy. The muted palette exists so it doesn't announce itself in your room.
What if I hate it when it arrives?
Sleep with it for 30 nights. If it isn't doing the job, tell us and we sort it out — no photo evidence, no interrogation, no restocking games. A comfort object you have to fight for isn't comforting.
